How can I extend my 30-day visa exemption in Thailand for an additional two months?

Good morning!

I'm currently in Thailand on a 30 day exemption with a UK passport, but I'd like to extend for another 2 months.

What is my best option? I've already used a 60 day (extended to 90) single entry tourist visa issued in London.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending their 30-day visa exemption in Thailand, having already uses a 60-day tourist visa. Commenters suggest options including getting a 30-day extension for 1900 baht at an immigration office, and performing a border run to re-enter Thailand for another 30 days. Additionally, it's noted that the limits for land visa exempt entries reset on December 31, allowing for potential extended stays through multiple visa exempt entries.

Kyle you don't say where you and whether your current 30 day exemption was by land but it's worth bearing in mind that your limit of 2 land visa exempt entries resets on 31 December and we are in the second half of September anyway so if you haven't entered already this year by land, you can get as much as 4 months out of just doing land visa exempt runs with extensions and that gets you through to January when it resets so you could do another four months there bringing you as far as early May... all on visa exempt land border runs... theoretically.

Thanks Ivan, I entered via air so sounds like a land entry is what I need to do

You should have bit the bullet and just bought the 6 month METV in the UK

you can go get a 30 day extension on this visa exempt stamp for 1900baht at the immigration office

Then you can go to a land border, stamp out, stamp in&out of another country and stamp back into thailand to get a 30 day visa exempt entry, although you're limited to just TWO of those in a calendar year.

If I want to come back in Jan/Feb – will I still be able to buy a multiple entry visa from the UK?

Thank you! Sounds like extending and then doing a land border run is the least hassle

@Kyle *******
, you can't get tourist visas inside of thailand :/ That means you'd go to a thai consulate and buy a tourist visa. The one in VIentiane Lao is quite "user friendly".

Do I need to buy the 60 day visa in a neighbouring country?

or go to a thai consulate and buy a 60 day tourist visa for the two months you need.
