Hello all.

Hopefully a quick question, we have changed our plans whilst out in SE Asia and have decided to extend our stay.

We are from the UK have already consumed our first 30 day visa exemption (landed in Bangkok and travelled north for 12 days before entering Laos in May) I realise we have a second 30 day exemption an intend to revisit Bangkok by air and travel South Thailand (Islands) after leaving Cambodia.

Is there a way I can extend the stay of the second exemption further, just for 5-10 days, to allow the second visit to be up to 40 days?

Thanks in adavnce ;)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a UK passport holder, inquires about extending their second 30-day visa exemption after re-entering Thailand. Community responses confirm that while a second entry typically grants another 30 days, it can be extended for an additional 30 days at an immigration office for a fee. However, users mention that although there's theoretically no limit on air entries, repeated entries could raise flags with immigration over time.

Yes. On your second arrival into Thailand with a UK passport, you will receive a 30 day visa exempt stamp which can be extended inside Thailand at the immigration office.

The limit of two visa exempt entries is if you enter via a land or sea border. There is no technical limit on entries by air. That said you won’t get away forever doing them. At some point an immigration officer will pull you aside or just deny you entry.

On each exempt entry you can extend once for a further 30 days at a local immigration office for 1,900 baht.
