Hello I’m planning to come to Bangkok using visa free passport and I’m allowed 30 days of stay. In case I want to stay longer, can I extend?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can extend your 30-day stay in Thailand by an additional 30 days if you enter on a visa exempt passport. To do so, you need to apply at the local immigration office with several required documents, including your passport, a completed extension application form (TM 7), and a processing fee of 1,900 THB. It is important to note that this extension only applies to those entering with a visa exempt status and not to those using a Visa on Arrival or under a Bilateral Agreement.

What passport do you hold?

Shouldn't matter. All nationalities who can enter on a visa exempt can get the 30 day extension of stay based on tourism.

I'm assuming the poster is entering on a 30 day visa exempt.

People from HongKong CAN enter on a visa exempt, if they request it on entry. I did peek at her profile, and she MAY be from Hong Kong or holding a Hong Kong passport.

Good catch!

Yes. You can get a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism IF you enter on a visa exempt. You will need the following documents submitted to the local immigration office:

1. The applicant’s passport and a copy of:

a. The data “picture” page.

b. The most recent visa (if applicable).

c. All entry stamps or extension of stay (if applicable) since arrival.

d. The departure card (“TM 6”) that should be stapled in the passport.

2. The extension of stay application form (“TM 7”).

3. A copy of the submitted Notification of Residence of Foreigners form ("TM 30”).

4. 2x passport sized (4cm by 6cm) photos.

5. 1,900 THB processing fee.

This advice only applies for people who enter on a visa exempt. See the attached list for the approved countries.

If you are entering on a Visa on Arrival, OR Bilateral Agreement, you do not qualify for this extension of stay.

If you are entering from a Hong Kong passport, you will need to ask passport control to stamp you in as visa exempt (Show them the list below).
