Thats what I'm thinking too! I've never heard of processing times this long in Jakarta.

No update still pending document check. I also applied on Monday. Hoping for an update today or tomorrow— I’m supposed to fly out on Saturday.

You can apply for DTV from Bali as its online, however on the off chance you were to get called in for an interview you would need to travel to Jakarta. 2 weeks should be more than sufficient.

I'm in Jakarta as well, submitted Sunday night as soon as I arrived and status is still "Pending Document Check (1)". Hopefully will see some movement today. Good luck Brother!

Just my two cents: I wouldn't say you plan to look for remote work because that does not indicate anything concrete. You would be better to get a letter of sponsorship from your father or his online business saying you will make X amount of money per month. I wouldn't worry too much -- as long as you can prove you have a source of income or something to fall back on, your visa should be approved no problem.

No Im not in the military, wife is Japanese and we wanted a break from Tokyo so we moved to Okinawa. It’s weird how Fukuoka allows it but Tokyo doesn’t. Do you think there is any downside to doing it online vs going in person (I.e Taiwan, Jakarta, etc).

Hey Andi, just an update in case anyone else runs into this situation. I’m based in Okinawa and spoke to the Thai Embassy in Fukuoka. They said it’s perfectly fine for me to apply from Japan, but I need to use the online e-visa system and choose their embassy location in the application for processing.
