Jakarta live update thread.

Mar 11, 2025, 3:09 PM (a Tuesday)

Just landed at CGK airport and submitted application as soon as I had visa on arrival and WiFi connection.

Status: Processing

Pending Document Check (1)

Notes: DTV application cost showed up as $343 on my card.

Visa on arrival for Indonesia was $32.

3 and a half hour flight from Bangkok, approximately.

Will update as the process moves along. Hopefully something good by the end of the work week.

---Update #1

Mar 13, 2025, 3:40 PM (a Thursday)

Request for Further document

I received an email asking for the following 2 items:

"Please upload proof of income for the past 6 months"

"Employment contract or employment certificate in their country or professional portfolio showcasing digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent or freelancer status : Please upload more portfolio of your work and the company registration"

---Update #2

Mar 13, 2025, 4:32 PM (a Thursday)

Request for Further document completed.

I submitted the following 2 documents.

Bank statements from past 6 months combined into single PDF.

Company registration, small cover/explanation letter, and three screenshots related to my work as a developer. So 5 things combined into a single PDF.

---Update #3

Mar 14, 2025, 4:10 PM (a Friday)

Request for Further document (2nd time)

I received an email asking for the following:

"Upload document proof that you are the founder of the company/ business."

---Update #4

Mar 15, 2025, 12:45 PM (a Saturday)

2nd request for Further document completed.

Remarks: I tried to kinda go a bit all out with this one since I felt a bit uneasy about them giving me a 2nd document request. I had to dig up some of these documents and spent a bit more time preparing it.

I submitted the following documents, combined into a single PDF.

-small cover/explanation letter

-Letter of acknowledgement from the state of Texas about my company registration.

-Receipt from when I made the payment for the company registration, to the state of Texas.

-My credit card statement from that month showing that payment.

-The original form form from when I did the company registration.

Yep, still stuck too. They batch process visas in Thailand, so I imagine this is the case too.

We will have to wait for next week I imagine if we hear nothing in the next hour or so.

yeah, that's why I came on a one way ticket. Was optimistic for finishing by today, but not surprised if it extends into next week.

At this point they can still request additional docs or interview but from what I've read people are usually approved in Jakarta within 2-3 days of "Pending Approval" status.

do people normally wait until they get the visa to leave?

Or they just leave after getting the pending approval status?

maybe Ramadan holiday is causing slower processing times. I remember reading most reports of like 2 or 3 days before.
