Nah, i was at CM immigration on wednesday. I am on a 60 day TR visa too. The volunteer in front of the building told me to just ask 60 days, reason 'covid'. The girl at the counter striked 60, changed it into 30, striked 'covid' and changed it into 'tourism'... I got a regular 30 days extension
Update: i have been to Chiang Mai Immigration just now today:
- indeed i first have to apply for a regular 30-day extension before being able to apply for a Non-O retirement
- the first officer i met at the counter said he couldn't accept my application for retirement-visa because a '3 month rental agreement; complete with cityplan and proof of rentalpayment' was missing; he couldn't answer my question how to be here already 3 months on a tourist-visa. just 'no, and please come back when you have these papers'
- so i decided to apply for a regular extension of 30 days, which i got in less then half an hour; the girl at the counter informed me that applying for non o retirement is only possible after a regular 30-day extension. she gave me already the forms for drawing the cityplan with the location of the building i am staying.
- By the way: for the regular extension i needed a 'receipt' of the TM30-form that my landlord earlier filed at immigration
