I just had mine extended, they gave me 30 days from the expiry of the original 30 days, I still had 5 days to run on my original entry. I was under the impression that it started from the day it was given but not so this time.

Yes, been here 10 days now, mainly getting on top of things that weren't maintained. The tropics aren't kind to properties.

I own a Condo here, which hasn't been occupied for close to 2 years. I went through the hoops, it's not hard but stressful.

Do yourself a big favour & buy a book called Confessions of a Bangkok Private Eye, written by a friend of mine Warren Olsen. It's a true account of his years in Thailand, with very little embellishment. If you've not been to Thailand its an eye opener. I can tell you more about the writing of it & his opinion/beliefs in Thai people. PM me if you more details.

I've been stuck outside Thailand for nearly 9 months, although not a resident I own a Condo in Phuket that I visit monthly for maybe 5-7 days plus take one or two longer holidays there. To answer your question, I want to get the latest information from a variety of sources, as one thing I'm certain of is that there is no common answer, I've learnt that different Embassies give different responses. I don't believe there is an easy way to get information but at least here it is from a wide base.
