Just out of curiosity I would be interested to know what percentage of members are going through all the hoops Just to go to THAILAND. Are you doing this because you need a holiday or because you live there and want to see family.

Please answer with HOLIDAY or LIVE THERE.

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post explores the motivations of individuals traveling to Thailand, inviting responses on whether they are visiting for holidays or to live there. Many comments reflect varied experiences: some are in Thailand for holidays to enjoy time with family or significant others, while others are long-term residents returning to their homes or families. The overall sentiment shows that, despite the complexities of travel during the pandemic, many find the process manageable, citing a mix of personal connections and the desire for a change in scenery.

Holiday. Just get your booster , wear a mask everywhere , chance of testing positive are quite low. If you have to sit next to someone on a flight wear an n95 and one additional mask on top.

I did it only because I came from a totalitarian dictatorship and have settled here permanently. The entry requirements were a headache and I'll never do it again during covid. Only come if you plan to stay long term.

3 weeks holiday. Was going to go to Cambodia too, but due to the omicrom surge, I thought I wouldn't press my luck.

I will say that it isn't that much paperwork. The hard part is when flights change, or disappear, and waiting for test results. THAT is where the stress comes in.

I'm living in Thailand; I went back to my home last January, after three months in Italy, doing two weeks of quarantine on arrival; it was expensive, but I didn't have other choice.
Amina ****
Here for a 3 months holiday (planned before covid and originally schedualed in Oct 2020 around SE-Asia). Finally we only visit Thailand, and it definitly worth all the papers (which are not so difficult after all).
Symon *********
Not bothering till all entry restrictions are lifted
Symon *********
It's the bollocks of getting there....plus the agro if you're unlucky to test positive if opens a whole set of bigger problems. Then the worry of getting home if the same shit as last time occurs with various red lists and closing borders. I can't be arsed.
Symon *********
I'm sure I'll get back.....one day.
Jon *****
@Symon ********

Not bothering due to mad times and travelling with my disabled daughter.

My family has not been home for 2.5 years.

See the family and have a holiday at the same time.

Hoping for some easier way of passage middle 2022.

Main worry is not being able to enter the country we live in overseas, bring foreigners the risk of getting problems returning overseas are too much, plus travelling with a severely mentally disabled person would be utter madness now.
Danny *******

Chris *******
@Che *******
same, our condo sat empty almost 2 years, so we sold everything and moved here a month ago.

Lots of stuff but not horribly difficult.
Marlene ******
@Chris ******
did you have a hard time to sell it?
Chris *******
@Marlene *****
sorry maybe a misunderstanding, we sold everything back home and moved into the condo here.
Pauline *******
@Che *******
Exactly same situation and exact same feeling over the stress thing. But it works out when you get all your ducks in a row

Yes, been here 10 days now, mainly getting on top of things that weren't maintained. The tropics aren't kind to properties.
Pauline *******
