I'm considering a DTV but I'm unclear on what happens regarding reporting, if I come in for 30 days and leave then come back in say a week later and stay 20 or 30 days , is the 90 reporting cumulative or only for those that stay 90 days consecutive?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting requirement in Thailand applies only to those who stay for 90 consecutive days. If you leave Thailand before reaching 90 days, your count resets, and upon returning, you start again from day one. Any days spent outside Thailand do not contribute to the 90-day count.

Your question is about 90-day reporting, has nothing to do with the DTV.

A 90-day report is required anytime you spend 90 CONSECUTIVE days in Thailand. If you leave before 90 days, you haven't spent 90 consecutive days in Thailand. When you return you start counting again at day 1 because it's only consecutive days.
