Thank you very much and I do appreciate all your help. As you are involved in answering immigration questions every day I will take your advice over others. Thanks again.
unfortunately the US Embassy doesn’t provide affidavit of income. I’m getting conflicting information about having the bank account opened prior to getting the 90 day extension. On another site people are saying that I apply for the Non O in Bangkok, receive 90 day, open bank account, deposit money, wait two months for account seasoning and apply for 1 year extension which I believe is different then what you stated so I’m very confused.
Thank you for the response, So I must have bank account prior to Non O application but nearly every post I have read from others state that banks will not open account for tourist visa holders. Once bank account is open and money deposited I can apply for Non O and receive 90 day stamp, before 90 day end I apply for 1 year extension, however I need to have two months of seasoned deposit in account. If that is true then I basically have 30 days to open bank account, deposit money, sign a lease? That seems like a lot to be accomplished in 30 days. I have contacted the Embassy where I live (Philippines) and they responded they don’t issue Non O only Non OA visa retirement.
many thanks for the reply. I asked the embassy how we would have lease contract before arriving in Thailand and they stated they don’t have any advice but it’s a requirement to have address of residence which I took as a lease and not hotel address. Thanks again for responding
Sorry for the hijack of the op question but I have attempted to take the steps you outlined. Non oA for me and non o trailing spouse but was told by Thai embassy that we need an resident address in Thailand before they can issue non o for spouse. How do we get rental address before we even get to Thailand? Many thanks
