 ahhhh ok. If you go to Laos be prepared to stay a night or 2 and pay for an entry visa. If in Bangkok do a border run/bounce from Onut to the Cambodian border easy and only 1 day.

 Lao visa don't take that long. Infact fly in and its instant at the airport but costs a little more

 apply for a non O based on retirement within Thailand. A criminal check is not required
