Ok, thank you. Do you know is it possible to get a 6 month tourist visa in malaysia or in another counry or is it only available in the home country?

I will have nearly the same problem soon. Usually my ED Visa should be valid until June '18, but my school told me there is a new rule (once again) so the ED Visa only valid for 9 month instead of 12 month. For me it means I should leave the country in march instead of june already. If it's like this, is it easy to get a 60 days Visa in another country so I can stay until June with one extension? Or is this new rule only a farce and I would get a new extension in march for another 3 month with my ED Visa? And I have to do the same like
