Best to look for accomodation would be Agoda.com as we have used them often and have had very good vacations prior to moving to Thailand.

O-A visa requirement are that the medical Insurance covers you for 3 Mil Baht. Just make sure the policy stipulates that.

Very accurate by John Stanners. Had a Frarang friend that experienced this first hand a couple of weeks ago. General ward where family members sleep under the bed, care and feed them. Upgrade to a private room is a option, but that you have to pay extra for.

If you dont have a valid drivers license, your insurance will not cover anything. Make sure you either have a IDP for 90 days or a valid Thai drivers license.
