Return to Vietnam? No I don’t see why you would.

Technically, you need a ticket out of Thailand within 60 days, if you’re using visa exemption. Your ticket to Vietnam meets this requirement ( if you have it before you enter Thailand).

Do a search for onward ticket.

Also check the small print on your travel insurance as it may require that you have a return ticket before you leave.

You just need to have your ticket to Laos as proof. Then your ticket back to the UK the second time you enter Thailand.
