Taiwan is in a Level 3 lockdown until July 12th, no transit allowed via Taipei. Probably will allow transit again by the middle of July. I think this is the third this has happened (maybe fourth) the first was in March 2020

I use a Skype number, not very much money. It will work on you PC or your phone, has voice mail and allows sending and receiving SMS. It will simultaneously ring on all your devices.

I agree with your sentiment. It seems here in the USA, about 30% of the people are concerned about the vaccine for various reasons, especially among African American. People are concerned about a two class systems taking rights away from people who decline or are allergic to any of the vaccines. Testing has improved dramatically in accuracy and speed. Maybe that could resolve the issue if implemented properly.

The clinical study that is on going will give scientific data as to its sterilizing capability. That will take about another 3 weeks. There is certainly a difference between mRNA such as Pfizer and Moderna vs Oxford or Sinovac. Current data for Moderna looks promising. For specific information you can follow Dr. Gottlieb, former director of FDA and a Pfizer board member

The Study is still on going as whether the vaccine will produce sterilizing immunity. It appears from the article the preliminary information from Moderna (Pfizer) is pretty good. Of the 5 percent or the vaccinated participants who still got Covid, those who were asymptomatic were blocked from spreading the virus. This study is not completed however it seems much better than the flu.
