There may be a bit of a mass exodus during that time during low season when resort businesses rely on a drip feed of income from non holiday residents however small, to keep going through the baron summer months like myself. I’m finding a few bars closing altogether at this time. I’m not sure Thai authorities have thought this through properly. I’m here to spend my life savings in Thailand and if I’m going to be taxed again on my savings I bring into spend then I’ll sadly look elsewhere to spend it
One thing to consider Malc is if you stay for 180 days or more you may get taxed on that pension you have also. I’m on retirement visa done myself easily by the way 1900 baht but I’m waiting to see this year if I’m going to get taxed on all my Thai deposits from uk. If so I may go somewhere else and avoid the rainy season and very hot weather going forward
My pension is in draw down status. I don’t have to take any of it and can bring money into Thailand from my savings instead. I can take from my pension pot what I like and when I like, it is not an annuity
