So I looked it up and apparently the guy who did the border run was at a Cambodian border indeed and they refused to give him the days because there were only 15 days left to fill the 90 days he was allowed to stay in a 6- month period of time.

Anyway when he tried his luck again the next day same border they gave the stamp with no discussion ^^

It seems like you need some luck with the immigration officer in front of you 😏 classic thai style
