I am currently on the 45 day visa exempt period and looking to get a educational visa "to study Thai". I speak Thai fluently read write etc so border testing isn't a issue. English citizen currently located in Bangkok. I am looking for some recommendations for the cheapest education visa institutes, or agencies, in Bangkok to get a 1 year education visa. I'd like some options and I can then go and investigate these. This will be the first time I am applying.
Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The author is looking for recommendations for affordable educational visa institutes or agencies in Bangkok to obtain a one-year visa for studying Thai, despite being fluent. Respondents have suggested reliable schools and expressed the importance of selecting the right institution, as paperwork is typically handled by the school itself. Comments also highlight the complexity of visa regulations and share experiences regarding the visa application process.
The country wants foreigners to come and spend in this land of smiles, but once you are addicted to SOMTHAM ,and you want to extend your visa then immigration is not helping you,it’s very sad. The best is you join as a party a English teacher in a school and work for free on weekends and they might apply a volunteer visa .
With ED visas in this group better turning off comments and asking for PM. Lots of judgy folks here that live on FB to troll with unhelpful mehm There's lots of legit ED visa schools. Some charge crazy amounts. I suggest at least speaking to a lawyer. They have legit ways and options if you pick the right one. Often times cheaper surprisingly. Hope you find one. .
Are you planning to study despite being fluent? Schools now have to report your study (or lack of) to the authorities I believe so it's not just a question of being able to respond to questions
immigration will only ask basic questions. But before the 2nd or 3rd extension you'll have to do a full ministry seated exam which covers listening, speaking, reading and writing.
there is always more to learn my friend! Also it isn't relevent I can do a advanced course to brush up on things or do a basic course and just pretend I don't know anything. We all know what goes on, just looking for the cheapest options for a year.
things have changed with regards ED visas recently, which is what I was trying to highlight. They are no longer sign up and not attend school. Can't help on the cheapest option I'm afraid
