is there a preference to apply for one or the another? I assume that I’m eligible to apply for both but just wondering which is easier/faster

Hi everyone, so I came here on “visa on arrival” and went to the immigration office with my wife for an extension but they told me that I can’t extend visa on arrival on this basis and they can only extend TR or Non-Im O visas unfortunately 😕 .

I looked at the immigration website and the extension section for visiting Thai spouse doesn’t mention any such requirements however the immigration officers didn’t budge even though I tried to explain and just suggested me to fly out and re-enter.

Is it worth going to an immigration office in a different province (of course I would book a hotel there and travel there etc)?

Yes, my will be with me as well and can definitely goto the immigration office with me as well.

So, it means that VOA can be extended based on “visiting Thai family” but not for other reasons?

Is a Canadian marriage Certificate sufficient for this purpose? I assume that birth certificate isn’t needed for spouse?
