I got married to my Thai wife outside of Thailand (Canada) and I’ll soon be travelling to Savannakhet, Laos to apply for a non-Immigrant O Visa.

Will I need to get a Kor Ror 22? I’ve heard that this is only needed to extend the O Visa and not for the initial application at an embassy.

Additionally, will I need the certificate to be translated to Thai language or is it ok for it to be in English?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether a Kor Ror 22 is required for applying for a Non-Immigrant O Visa after marrying a Thai wife outside Thailand, specifically in Canada. The comments clarify that the Kor Ror 22 is not needed for the initial visa application, but rather for extending the visa. The user does need to translate their Canadian marriage certificate into Thai and have it certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the original certificate must also be provided. Confirmation is provided that the back of the marriage certificate needs to be signed by the wife and must contain a local Amphoe stamp.

You can apply for the non-o visa with the canadian certificate.

When you gonna make an extension of stay based on marrige you need to have the Thai certificate.

So get your canadian cert. translated into thai and go with the original togheter with the translated to MFA (go there alone is an option but I would recommend to hire someone to do it for you waay faster and cost pennies...)

As you're married outside of thailand already you wont need the singlecert. Only your wife might need that but that can be given in her local amphur. Then just get a time at a amphur and you're done 👍

The kor ror 22 isn't needed, just a signed(by your wife) copy and the original(returned to you) rose boarder marriage cert. You'll need any foreign marriage certs translated into Thai and certified by the MFA.

Just to add, you need the back and front copies of the rose boarder Thai marriage cert signed by your wife. The back has a stamp from the local Amphoe on it.

What province and amphur are you going to register your marriage in? And what embassy will you get your single paper at?

Yes, I do understand that these documents are required when applying for a non-Imm O within Thailand or when getting a 1 year extension to the O visa.

However, if I’m applying for the O visa from outside Thailand is the original Canadian marriage certificate not sufficient?

@Brijendra ****
, when applying in Canada the Canadian marriage certificate should do it.

Go through the married paperwork process in Thailand, the latter is easier

@Brijendra ****
you either have to go through MFA and get it certified in Thailand before you can do anything, or
