true, and since Im a Malaysian, I look like them too, so much so no one has ever thought I was non Thai until I open my mouth. Lol! Got no problem mixing with the locals because Malaysia and Thailand are not far apart in our cultures.

Im from Malaysia and sometimes I jokingly refer to myself as farang to my wife. She looks at my brown ass and tells me "you are not white so shut yo ass up". ðŸĪĢ

1. Because thailand is still better than a lot of places now. 2. Some have family here but are not married. 3. Its people's choice to be where they want to be.

90% thais vs 10% expats/tourists. Its a no brainer, why narrow your market yeah? I also noticed that if you sold the right things at the right place, the local's purchasing power is very high.

i have many friends working in walking streets around thailand from the south to the north, east to the west and they are all saying the same thing. After lockdown ended, the trend seemed to have moved to shops rather than walking streets, now all of them are looking for small and affordable shops in their cities. Gotta adapt and change quick, because some of them are just getting a total sales of 250 baht per day in walking streets.

some stupid mentality you have there. But carry on.

On the contrary to what many are saying here, opening a small shop is the way to go now as walking streets and night baazars are dead. Shops here are packed with locals, you can hear the flies buzzing in walking streets. And do register for grab and food panda, it will be at least 50% of your total income. Dont sell what you like but sell what locals like. A quick tip, anythin on sticks will sell very well.

Wait for an announcement tomorrow. Or go into overstay mode, which MANY will. If you are at the south, the Malaysian Consulate at Songkhla will give you an extension letter. If you are at the east, central or north, tough luck, the Malaysian Embassy wont issue anymore letters. Another option is travel to Chiang Mai immigration, they will extend your stay without an embassy letter IF you have not extended before from the time you last came in until amnesty.

it aint that easy. Land broder crossing requires approval letters from the thai and malaysian side and may take up to 3 weeks. Its not a case of flash your passport and pass.
