You can change from Non Imm ED to what ppl call the 'marriage visa' (whatever the term, Non Imm O, based on marriage or something) without leaving the country. I did this for the year long 'marriage visa', but needed 400k in the bank for 2 months before applying. The visa itself stays Non-Imm, only the reason for the new extension changes, from study to marriage. So you're basically just getting a new year long extension on your current visa based on marriage.
You can get the 'marriage visa' without the 400k in the bank, but afaik you need to leave the country for this as only certain consulates do it, otherwise you need that 400k for 2 months, so you might be outta luck unfortunately :/
