TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on renewing their education visa, which expires soon, and is considering switching to a marriage visa without leaving Thailand. Responses provide insights on potential options, including extending their stay via a marriage visa (Non-Imm O), the possibility of an amnesty extension, and other alternatives like additional educational programs.

Your extension of stay based on studying Thai language expires August 31. You have a couple of options:

1. There's a 99% chance the amnesty will be extended until late September. It's unknown what the restrictions will be on this amnesty at this time. On August 31, cancel your current extension of stay, and you should roll over to the automatic amnesty (but check this group first for any changes). You'll be able to stay no later than the final date of the amnesty.

IF YOU GET MARRIED.

1. You can get a one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national. This will require having 400K THB in a Thai bank account, in your name, for 60 days first. Once you get this extension of stay, you can stay for an entire year.

2. You can get a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family. This lets you stay an additional 60 days, but does not require the 400K THB in a Thai bank account.

For both extensions, contact your local immigration office for details.

OTHER OPTIONS:

1. Enroll in a Bachelors/ Masters/ or PhD program at an international university. You can stay for the length of the program. Talk to a university for more information.

Good luck!

You can change from Non Imm ED to what ppl call the 'marriage visa' (whatever the term, Non Imm O, based on marriage or something) without leaving the country. I did this for the year long 'marriage visa', but needed 400k in the bank for 2 months before applying. The visa itself stays Non-Imm, only the reason for the new extension changes, from study to marriage. So you're basically just getting a new year long extension on your current visa based on marriage.

You can get the 'marriage visa' without the 400k in the bank, but afaik you need to leave the country for this as only certain consulates do it, otherwise you need that 400k for 2 months, so you might be outta luck unfortunately :/

What is an "education visa"? Is this an extension of stay, or the original 3 month sticker?

Can you post a picture of what you have in your passport?\
