 PS. I’ve lived in Thailand maybe 6 years total and probably made 30+ trips there. And I’ve never done a TM 30 and as far as I know no hotels have done one. I’ve just lived at one of the houses.

 ok.. Two years ago I went to Thailand with my wife and daughter ( also born in Thailand ) I got a Visa on Arrival, stayed for 45 days, went to Laos for 10 days and returned to Thailand. My wife’s niece did paperwork at NKP immigration stating I was living at my wife’s house. And returned to the USA a month later.

Can I do a same-day border run to Laos with a Non-O visa to extend my stay in Thailand?

I’ve done the Laos trip several times for this visa. You can go to Nong Khai, clear Thai customs, do Lao customs, and turn around and go back to Thailand. But I would spend a day or two (or 10) in Laos before coming back. Lots to see.
