So do I also need to get my retirement visa from Phuket immigration office and must keep residence in Phuket as a pre-requisite for my wife to apply trailing spouse Non-O visa on me ? My original plan is to live in Chiang Mai, never consider Phuket!

Ok, this seems to be the safest way. I'll try to ask for 90 days Non-O approval first.

Understood. So after I got my retirement visa, I need to go outside Thailand (such as Malaysia) with my wife and then apply for 90 days Non-O visa at the local Thai consulate. Is it correct ?

We are from Taiwan. I will get marriage certificate in English from government and then certified by public notary before going to Thailand. Is this can fulfill the requirement?

sorry, it should be 800k and 1600k respectively

By using the above process, Is it right that only the primary needs to have bank deposit 80kbaht ? ie. only 80k for both instead of 160k for 2 retirement visa

HI Tod, thanks for the clear explanation and I understood now. My wife actually also over 50, is the above process still work? Because I have heard that people over 50 must apply for retirement visa individually.

Thanks

Yes, I know the primary can get one year retirement visa. But how about the spouse? Do she apply for dependent visa together with my application or after I get the retirement visa?
