I'm from Taiwan(over 50) and holder of Taiwan passport. I originally plan to apply for Non-O 90 days retirement visa in Taiwan and then my wife(also holder of Taiwan passport) apply for trailing spouse dependent visa on me before entering Thailand. However, Thailand Trade and Economic Office in Taiwan today replies me that they don't issue Non-O 90 days retirement visa but only the Non-OA retirement visa open for application. I know that I can use 60 days travel visa to enter Thailand and then change it to Non-O retirement visa. But I don't know how can my wife to get trailing spouse dependent visa on me ? Can give any suggestion? Thanks a lot.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a Taiwanese passport holder over 50, seeks advice on applying for a Non-O retirement visa for 90 days, while also wanting to know how their wife can obtain a trailing spouse dependent visa. They learned that the Thai Economic Office in Taiwan does not issue the Non-O retirement visa, but only the Non-OA visa. The user considers entering Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa and changing it to a Non-O retirement visa afterward. Comments suggest that the Phuket immigration office might issue a trailing spouse visa but it has not been widely confirmed, and there's a question of if the wife can apply for her visa from Taiwan after the husband secures his Non-O visa in Thailand.
