Anonieme deelnemer 411 I don't see why people with retirement visa should be bitter.

I have DTV myself, but when retirement visa was not that unflexible that it is now by having to extend in country every year, I would have applied for retirement visa because that just is a better visa because it is not a tourist visa.

But since I am not living in Thailand and only there for longer periods, retirement visa just not for me now, and till I retire the DTV exactly matches.

Retirement and DTV just are completely different targething completely different groups.

For specific situations you better communicate and apply in your home country, but even then it is sometimes difficult.

Asking questions to embassies that are popular by people doing visa runs like you, is almost impossible.

I don't need an extension, because I do not live in Thailand, I only tell that getting all documents for extension takes far and far less time than a border run. In the time you need to prepare for a border run, I will have all documents. Maybe difficult to believe for some people that other countries might be more efficient organized. All documents needed for DTV I can receive with a few clicks online.

To get a bank statements in seconds I don't need luck, all of the banks I know just do bank statements within seconds. For the initial application I also got all documents within an hour, I live in a modern country where all these can be done just online.

I don't know about your bank, but at my bank I can download the statement as PDF within seconds, much less than a day.

Why should it take much time to get documents?

not correct, every first 90 day report after enttering the country has to be done in person.

This is what immigration says:

For first-time requests of a 90-day notification in each country visit, in-person presentation at the immigration office is required.

or some embassies just forgot to check if Wise is a bank. Rules are clear about this, Wise should not be accepted.

Wise is not a bank, but some embassies accept, there are stories immigration in Thailand does not accept Wise for extension.

Personally I would not keep 500K THB for a long time on a Wise account.

Wise is great for transfering money, and also nice to exchange and keep some money for daily expenses, but I would not use it as a savings account.
