sure I did but he’s asking if he should go change it at the embassy (somehow). My suggestion is he does if he can because of the limitations as we’ve all been saying. If he’s coming for max 9 months...cool he can come. If he wants to stay long term try to change to regular 90 day visa.

just get tourist visa at the thai embassy In your country if you can. Then you can switch to many different types once inside. You can get a 90 day visa easy. More than enough time to figure out next step.

As far as I know you cannot change from stv to other visas. You can extend it up to 9 months total then have to leave.

Best is to get a regular tourist visa at the thai embassy to get inside and then will be able to change once inside.
