Martin Swain I opened my bank there many years ago when I was running a business there (legally) for 3 years.. now I am just interested in being a genuine tourist there.. I also maintain a bank account in Vietnam where I spend a lot of time as a tourist.. it's just so much easier for getting money when I need it and not having to carry large sums of cash with me..

Is proof of THB in a Thai bank account sufficient for this requirement?

There are minivans that run from the airport to the border bridge shortly after every flight arrival, just check here for times - if I recall correctly, I think the cost was about 200 baht 2 years ago.
