Once they gave me a new TM6 at Immigration and then they register it at the same time. They could see the number of my lost TM6 in their computer system, think they always can.

No, I had my non-B visa cancelled. Also of family members connected to my visa/wp.

it’s an Immigration rule that when you cancel your wp then you also have to cancel your visa, as the visa status is connected to your wp. Basically, you’re supposed to leave the country (within 7 days) when your work is over.

Since I was late, I was advised to fly out, get a tourist visa, and come back and cancel my visa connected to my wp - and pay the overstay.

Yes, go the same day. My employer cancelled my wp without cancelling my visa - told me that I could stay until my visa ran out....Since I didnt know, I ended up having 88 days overstay😱 Your employer can ask for a 7 day extension and maybe more if they give a good reason (kids in school or something).
