We found it hard to get US tourist for my Mrs. If your GF has a job and a letter from employer allowing time off, that would be a good start. Full itinerary including booked accommodation and or letters from family in US inviting you both to events and offer of accommodation. She will be interviewed without you, so she also needs to know something about where she is going, expectations etc' and her English will be scrutinized, they are tough !. Then she needs to prove her own funds. If she has never had visas for any other country or travelled at all, her chances are very low. My Mrs already had previous visas for UK, OZ and Schengen and was initially denied at the desk, she did not give up and she got the visa without a denial stamp in the end. If you do get a denial stamp, it makes it much harder to get a visa later. Good luck.
- I had the same thing and had to pay ... if the visa is expiring then there is no fee but mid term change of reason need to pay immigration “special” fees ... I paid more than that !
Thanks Todd - I agree that you should not travel without insurance but not clear on - "would have been much easier if you had given this some thought a year ago. No insurance needed".....I do not understand...
