yes uk Ireland yes true, no visas etc and in theory no passport as a special zone. However as UK citizens don’t have ID cards they need a passport as their only form of identification to travel to Ireland. Driving licence doesn’t cover it, I’ve tried that one !

for example, from to what country to what country can one travel without a passport?

in summary: a passport is usually required to visit foreign lands. Unless of course you are planning on an inflatable based trip to the UK via France?

Is the question: does one need a passport to visit a different country?

yes that one comes up a fair bit too. ‘How can I get a new passport/visa/ divorce from my wife’ ?

Disappointed that there is no query about the bus timetable to Pattaya and how many visa runs one can do. How I miss the good old days of Thai visa advice.

In my not negligible experience of various countries’ KL embassies; the tip is to go elsewhere!

I sympathise with the tedium in seeing this same question asked every day.

The new system (for visa exempt countries) is to be ETA; ie one can use the electronic immigration gates so possibly negating the chance of encountering an immigration officer bad hair day. Perhaps the gates will be like slot machines where the ‘payout’ is adjusted by the immigration manager each week?

Also, I have no idea about bus timetables to Pattaya on Tuesdays.
