Hi I was under the impression that if you get a non O visa 90 day's you don't need to get insurance. But if you get a A/O visa then you do. This is what I believe is right.

So when I move over I apply for a non O visa from thai embassy UK and open a bank account in first few days when arrive and put either 400k or 800k into bank leave it for 2 months then do extension for 12 months is that right. Cheers

agreed mate, we are going over in February to buy something in Hui Hin and move over next December.

Think I will just stick 400k in thai bank once I open one. Had 4 when I lived there before.

But married visa always been a pain to get, so might have to get a retirement visa and put 800k in.

But im selling up here.

Need Chogoon to finish college first. He has applied to the RAF as a pilot. He goes to Cranwell end of month.

Hope you are good mate.

Tom Stu Levy here. If you are going to get a marriage visa then you need to show 400k in thai bank. Or show 40k a month but you can only use the monthly method after your first extension. And it has to be paid into your thai account every month. Then when you do your renewal you need to take bank statements to immigration.

Used to be able to get a letter from embassy but no longer can do it.

thanks for that. I will just leave 400k or 800k in bank when I decide which way to go. Last time I had my Army pension and war pension paid directly into my Thai bank account. But not even got one of them at the moment lol 🙃. I know the married visa is a pain to do, well so my friends say but only have 400k tied up rather then 800k. How much different is to do then retirement? Will always do myself. Thanks.

You obviously stayed in Germany when you finished in the Army?

thanks for that do you use the German embassy to verify your pension, because the UK embassy do not issue you letters anymore. I used to get a letter every year when I lived there before.
