Hi hopefully quick question i read a lot about people's visa under consideration is this just for marriage visa or retirement also.
I qualify for both and was on retirement visa for 12 years before we moved back to the UK. We are moving back next year is the marriage visa still a pain ? Or would it be just as easy to get retirement again, will have fund either way.
But this under consideration is baffling me. Because we are selling everything in the UK and last thing I want is any problems.
Thanks in advance
Stu

TLDR : Answer Summary
The term 'under consideration' applies to both marriage and retirement visas in Thailand, often leading to complications such as home visits and delays in processing, especially if the application is sent to Bangkok for approval. Many commenters suggest that obtaining a retirement visa might be easier, as it typically requires less documentation and has fewer obligations compared to the marriage visa.

No problem at all, I Got my 90 days e visa, moved over went to the immigration got the list, got the papers together applied for the exstenion was under consideration for a month, had one visit from the immigration 30 Mins all easy going, now I'm on my second exstenion.
To be honest if I had the 65k income every month the retirement is a lot easier but having 800,000 on the Bank doing nothing it's worth doing the marriage visa. π

My advice if you meet the requirements retirement visa pal because you're not so much obliged to prove more. Good luck, if you have the money π
Yes its still a pain. The under consideration period, is needed for the home visit and outside of Bangkok your application is sent to Bangkok for approval. Do you have a Thai bank account?
no my old accounts were closed as been back in the UK for 12 years. Going over February to hopefully buy something. Will open a account in my wife's name then do mine when come over permanently in December. Will try and do a joint account in February and put the 800k in and transfer it when my account is up and running.
