do not wait until the last date. They need at least 21 days to process the extension.

Yes used because single is one entry. She now has to go to immigration apply for an extension to one year and provide necessary paperwork for a years single entry.

Is it a S single entry visa valid for 90 days?

A lot of consulates only issue 90 days now and you have to go to immigration and apply to make it a 12 month visa.
