Any help would be great. I am an Australian who works 1 week on 1 week off in Australia. I plan to marry my girlfriend next month and because of my frequent travel I'm fast going through the 30 day tourist visa, would anyone know my best options to keep traveling to Thailand every week. Cheers for the help

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian expat preparing to marry his girlfriend seeks advice on visa options to facilitate frequent travel to Thailand, as he's nearing the limit of his 30-day tourist visa. Community members suggest obtaining a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on marriage, specifically from the Thai consulate in Savannakhet, Laos. This visa allows for unlimited entries into Thailand for its validity period, with each stay allowing up to 90 days. Important considerations include potential financial requirements, such as maintaining a bank balance of 400k THB or proof of income.

I agree with
@La***
, (y) given your work requirements, I'd say once you're married to go the thai consulate in Savannakhet Lao and get a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on marriage. That visa is good for unlimited entries into thailand for the validity of the visa itself (a year from the date it's issued) and each entry you're stamped in for 90 days.

You should be able to get a year multiple entry O visa in your home country.

By timing it; he means to do your last entry 1 or 2 days before it expires. So when you come back, you get another 3 months.

You need 400k in a Thai bank in your name for more than 2 months to do the visa anywhere else but Savanakhet. He's correct about that being the only place that doesn't require the financials.

Or income of 40k per month

Non o multiple entry visa from savanaket loas. 5000bht for 15 months if you time it right and you don't need proof of Financials.

Lance what criteria is needed if no financial proof is needed do you have to have dependents ( wife ? Children? ) Is the a certain age you have to be ? to get a non O multi entry from Savanaket

I don’t believe you can just walk in & apply for a Non O off the bat & get it ......
