Hello group members,

Need some advice regarding land border entry for tourism.

Nationality: Indian, eligible for 60 day visa free entry

1. Planning to fly in to BKK, travel to the north for 7 days (Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai) , cross-over to Laos, and take the boat to Luang Prabang, and spend 10 days in Laos.

2. Cross over to Thailand via Nong Khai border (avail visa free entry), travel Nong Khai to BKK , then take the bus from BKK to Siem Reap (Cambodia).

3. Stay in Cambodia for 10 days, crossover again to Thailand from Aranyaprathet, and fly back to India.

Key questions:

1. Is the visa free entry scheme for Indian citizens valid for these 2 border crossings- Nong Khai and Aranyaprathet. I have seen reports of some Indians being denied entry at Nong Khai and asked to fly from Vientiene to Bangkok instead.

2. Is there any restriction on the number of times a person can avail the visa free entry scheme, (i will be entering Thailand 3 times within a period of 30 days, before finally flying back to India)

3. Am i expected face any additional scrutiny or entry denial on account of my nationality, vs say a person from a first world country?

Kindly provide your inputs.

Warm Regards

High guys, was about to self drive to aranyaphratet to do a border bounce but ive been reading around its seems like a bad idea to go there. I came in to thailand with a visa exemption and i have already done a visa extention at bkk immigration and that will finishes on 28 tomorrow My flight is on the 5th feb back home. What are my options? Fly Malaysia 1 day? Try ban leam border? I use to live in aranyaphratet been poipet manny times but i have no confidence in that right now. It was malayasian airlines that moved my flight to the 5th with my travel insurance due to flight and transfer delays and they offerd me that date. my passport is fairly new with one entry stamp and extension.

I have a 1 year multiple entry visa based on marriage to a Thai from Savannakhet in Laos (Non Imm O).

I need to do a 90 day border bounce to get my next 90 days and was hoping to do it at the Cambodian border (Arranyapathet / Poipet).

Is it possible to bounce in the same day or would I need to spend the night in Cambodia as I’ve read on a few other posts ?

Many thanks in advance.

Hey- has anyone recently done the Border Bounce to Aranyaprathet/Poipet FROM Ekkami bus station. Do the busses return to Ekkami from border relatively frequently? Any boobie-traps along the way? Cheers-

I am on a 30 day extension of an exemption granted at BKK for a US National, said extension is set to expire on June 29. I am seasoning funds in a Thai bank, and will then finalize a long term "Non-O". I need to re-enter the Kingdom and have a couple of quick questions: Firstly, can I obtain a 60 day METV? I have a solid proof of address in Nonthaburi and will bring funds, what other papers should I bring? Lastly, somewhat mixed reviews for re-entering at Aranyaprathet, should I do Vientiane instead, I have a car to use for this trip.

Borderbounce Aranyaprathet/Poi Pet. 20-21 April.

This border still enforce the policy that you must stay In Cambodia one night, no changes.

Cost Visa Cambodia: 1200 bath. Buy it on the right side of the street, the first house with the sign visa service, after you exited from the Thai immigration border and passed the first buildings.

Continue down the street after this and walk in to the office marked arrival. Get the arrival/departurecard, give it to an immigrationofficer with the passport and they will stamp you in to Cambodia.

Cost of stamps: Free

Day after when you return to thailand, visit the immigrationoffice for departure, other side of street compared to the arrival and 100 meter further in to Cambodia.

Cost of stamps: Free.

If you are in hurry in the morning, give one of the uniformed immigrationofficers 200 bath and he will go in the backdoor and stamp it for you.

Return to thailand immigrationoffice to stamp in to Thailand.

If you choose to use the ununiformed visa service guy's that try to contact wherever you go, they will help you, but also rip you of both fee and tip.

I wrote this because I earlier saw statement that it was a fee to pay of returning to Thailand in less the three days, else free. That is not correct. Stamps are free, it is the visa service guy's who want your money. Or, if you want to pass the que of people waiting to get their stamps, that too cost money.

This is related to make borderbounce with a Thai visa with multiple entry.

Not much to comment about this, so I recommend to close it for comments.
