Hi all. I need to do a visa run tomorrow. Where is the best border to do it right now? how is Poiphet? Nong Khai? or other preferred. 

I plan to travel for a few days to a nearby country, no rush to come back at the same day. Thanks

Are you looking to do a visa run or border bounce? A visa run means you're going to the embassy and purchasing a visa, whereas a border bounce means you're just going to cross the border and return to get a new stamp?

Always do everything you can to avoid the Poipet border. Nothing but nightmare reports from there.

Thanks for the clarification. I plan to do a border bounce. will I receive 45 days entry to Thailand if I enter by land?

This infographic from our friends at Thai Visa Advice explains the difference in the processes as outlined by Brandon. I totally agree with him stay well clear of Poiphet. The Laos borders are more user-friendly than those with Cambodia.

yes but avoid Poipet. A report from a couple of weeks ago that they stamped someone in for 30 days. They follow their own rules at that border.
