Hello! The research I did online says that once you get the proper paperwork from the place of study inside of Thailand for Ed visa that you have to apply outside of Thailand. So my question is for the people in Bangkok where do y’all go outside of Thailand to apply? Please be as detailed as you can…. The country, embassy, transportation there….etc. Thank you!! Any other info also welcomed!!

Hi there, I just wanted to check if the visa exempt entry is currently 30 days on arrival or 45 days? I know it was 45 days during the time that quarantine was required due to Covid, then it changed back to 30 days and I read somewhere that they are bringing back the 45 days but not sure when it is supposed to start again?

Ok. Time to figure out my next visa move. Volunteer seems like it's not going to happen.

Is a multiple entry from my home country possible? My home country is USA. And of course, I would go there to get it. Or they only have single entry tourist visa at this time?

What is a "Special" tourist visa? What are the benefits and requirements?

Just a quick question. Is the visa exemption still valid for 45 days, or is it back to the usual 30 days we had pre-covid ? Asking, as I plan to spend 43 days in Thailand. Furthermore, there is no issue to marry if I enter via visa exemption right? FYI I hold a german passport.

Thx very much

For those who have entered visa free for a 45 day stay, has anyone attempted to extend their visa at the immigration bureau? The US embassy website states this is possible but is still referring to the 30-day length of stay. I've seen conflicting information on whether or not it's possible to extend under current circumstances.

Also, if it can be extended, is it necessary to leave the country and come back for the extension to take effect?

I am trying to get my visa to teach in Thailand. The school sent me all the paperwork and I sent it in to the Los Angeles consulate. Now the consulate is asking for a work permit before they issue the visa.

The school says they have never had to do it this way before usually the visa is issued and then the work permit. They are trying to get a work permit but they need copies of all the pages of my passport... which is at the consulate. I called the consulate and they were very rude and told me they will not issue a visa without the work permit. They said they would send the copies of my passport but it’s been a few days and they haven’t done it yet.

I don’t know what to do next and I am very frustrated. Any suggestions.

I thought that when renewing your visa (retirement) it reset the 90 day reporting requirements but now understand this is not the case. I am now 80 days overdue. Did Covid changes mean o don’t need to do until 26 September? I tried online but it said contact immigration office.

Trying to summarize lots of information:

AS of today Saturday 21 March 2020 at 12:00:

Land borders with Thailand:

Malaysia closed their borders

Myanmar closed their borders

Laos closed their borders

Cambodia has a few border check points open today, but it seems from tomorrow onward only Poi Pet - Aranyaprathet border check point will be open for essential travel.

Thailand is closing borders as you can not travel to neighbor country anyway, no need to stay in full force to tell people, no border run available.

If you like to enter Thailand by airplane starting at midnight today, so effective from 22 March 2020,

all people need a medical certificate and an

insurance with at least 100.000 USD coverage.

Royal Thai Police Immigration Bureau:

Announced that for the 18 countries and 3 territories, the 15 day Visa on Arrival is cancelled,

The 30 day Visa Exempt Entry is cancelled for Italy and South-Korea.

There is an option for people using the Visa Exempt Entry and Tourist Visa and already have the 30 day Extension of Stay.

If you booked a flight out of Thailand before your last date and this flight is cancelled or re-scheduled or re-booked after your last date you can get an Emergency travel letter from your Embassy. With this letter you can get an extra maximum 30 day Extension of Stay.

For people using the Non Immigrant Visa, the normal requirements are in place to apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay.
