TLDR : Answer Summary
If your work permit is canceled and you were in Thailand on an extension of stay based on employment, you can apply for a 60-day extension of stay due to being unable to travel because of COVID-19. This extension is available until May 28.

IF you are here on an extension of stay based on employment, and the extension of stay based on employment is cancelled, you can get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. The last day they are selling the extension is May 28

so it’s meant if my work permit cancelled by owner, then I still can get 60 extension days stay in Thailand? and another question during this 60days if I get another job, can I get work permit again? 😊

You need to talk to your local immigration office if they allow you to 'convert' your extension to a different employer. Also, you need to talk to your new employer if they can support in-country non-B (visa and/or extension) and work permit because not all the employers can meet the requirements for in-country conversion/application.

>then I still can get 60 extension days stay in Thailand?

As long as you apply for it, yes you can

> can I get work permit again?

That'll be between you and the immigration office. You *CAN NOT* hold a work permit on a 60 day extension of stay baed on unable to travel due to COVID-19, so you'll have to change it to a one year extension of stay based on employment.

Is is possible to convert the extension based on employment to extension based on covid first and then again convert it back to extension based on employment after few months?

@Nishit *****
That is something you have to talk about with your NEW employer and immigration office. if all of them agree and can meet the requirements, yes, you can. Otherwise, you may not be able to apply for a new Non-B (visa or extension) in-country.

i was talking about extension of stay based on employment not non-b type visa. is it possible to change the reason for the extension of stay from employment to covid and then from covid to employment. thanks

@Nishit *****
they are linked, unless you can be on any type of visa/extension that allows you to hold WP (such as Non-O spouse to a Thai, guardian to half Thai child, etc), you have to be on visa/extension based on employment by the same employer (the main one) of your work permit. (added) And you cannot be on an extension based on employment without a valid work permit.

My answer stays the same.

It depends on if your new employer can meet the requirements for the in-country process.
