* Ive been onto the Thai Canberra website and saw only a single entry O visa available. Ive searched the forums also.

Can anyone advise me please of their most recent experiences.

I could possibly apply in Thailand if need be or Laos or wherever is best.

I know rules change and im hoping for the most up to date info.

As an Australian citizen residing at present in Melbourne, Australia with a Thai gf in Thailand. I visit her 3 times per year for one month each time. I plan on spending more time there in the future. I will eventually want a Thai bank account and avoid agents. I dont want my passport filled with 60 day visa exempts.

Is it possible to obtain a yearly "O" visa with multiple entries? If so would i apply in Thailand or Australia?(i have 400000baht). Most likely will marry in the future albeit i do not want an OA marriage visa(if im getting my terminology correct) as ive been advised its way too problematic. The OA retirement visa health insurance requirements are also problematically expensive for me as well as not wanting 800kbaht earning only 1.5%.

Thanks in advance šŸ™

I own a business in the US and currently in Thailand but heard I can go to Laos and apply in person. It says I donā€™t qualify for e-visa. Do I still upload my documents or head to a print shop and print all these requested documents?

Hello there.

It has been a while - five years since we ended our six months in Thailand, six months in the US routine.

I will be traveling to Thailand next month using the 60 day visa exempt option to join my Thai wife who arrived last month and we will depart to the US, together, prior to the 60 days ending.

We are considering returning to our six month/six month return next fall, and realize that things have changed. Previously I would get a non imm o-a visa each year through the LA Thai Consulate - it was straightforward and worked well.

Now I see that mandatory medical insurance has been added to the mix, and as a 74 year old guy, while not a deal breaker, it ainā€™t cheap.

It seems like the only alternative is to spend 90 days on each visit.

Does this fine group have a solution for me? I am not interested in border runs etc - I just want to get to Thailand each year and enjoy life.

Thank you for all you do.

Hy folks , been coming to Thailand for 20 ish years once or twice a year .

It's getting towards that time when i'll be making the move . End of June 2026 is the time line i'm planning on .

I'll be 58yrs old with Ā£80k in a bond , at current rates thats about Ā£7.5k a year . Also will have Ā£30k cash , topped up when i'm 60yrs old with Ā£10k more .

Now i'm not interested in is it enough or not , each person spends different .

What i would like to know ,with the reglations as they are now , what type of Visa , if any , i would be eligible for .

Hey guys any pros vs cons for selecting the ā€œsoft powerā€ category for the DTV visa vs the digital nomad category? Prefer to keep my work stuff and employment info private if the visas are exactly the same. Itā€™s showing 2 DTV categories 1 for digital nomads and 1 for soft power activities such as medical which I am also eligible for. Will the one I select matter?

Hello, apologies for such a long story but I was told I would get best advice from here.

My partner and I are having a nightmare with visas. To cut a long story short, we moved here in April with the intention of getting a retirement visa for myself but my partner , Sean (weā€™re not married, both from UK) aiming to get a business visa and work permit via our company. Without going through details, this is now not an option for him. We are both on a 30 day extension. After some problems with our agent, I was late in applying for my 90 day non O (i have all relevant documents and money) and consequently we have to do a visa run next week. We have been told, aside from Sean getting employment with a company, his best visa options are either ED visa or a spouse visa (?) where Sean can tag onto my retirement visa. Obviously we have to get married for this (another hurdle, but is doable).

My questions are a) how long will it take to get married in thailand - will we have enough time for the applications for 90 day non O and his spouse visa? b) do we apply for both at the same time? C)if he opts for the ED visa, does he have to stay on that visa for the full year if he is lucky enough to obtain a job with a company in the year? And D) are there any other visa options (he is 54, no pension) Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi I can't really find the info I'm after or if it's possible. I'm looking into spending 2-3 weeks per month in Thailand in the future, I'd fly back to Australia to run my business a week or 2 and spend the rest of my time there. Is there any visa options for this? Thanks

.

I met with Visa Agent in Bkk today, for retiring from USA. We reviewed Retirement Visa, Elite Gold, and then they shared with me LTR. LTR seemed too good to be true? Any advice or warnings on LTR would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi All! Thanks for letting me join the group šŸ™‚

I am married to a Thai and we currently have been living in Australia for 8 years after moving here from Thailand.

I am looking at retiring in the next several years, and we would move back to Thailand (I'm a US, NZ, and AU citizen, if that matters)

Is this OX Visa a better option than a marriage visa?
