It appears Thailand is now open again to Uk tourists. I saw this information on the Thai embassy in London. Can anyone confirm this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Thailand has reportedly reopened to UK tourists, allowing for a 60-day tourist visa. However, there are concerns about COVID-19 insurance and bank balance requirements, with some discussions suggesting a necessity of £12,800 in the bank for certain visa applications. Clarifications emerge that not all visas may require this amount, particularly regarding the special long-term tourist visa. Questions regarding the logic behind financial prerequisites and quarantine limitations have surfaced, indicating a complex visa application process post-COVID.

I heard that stv won't need $
*****
for the past six month already but instead tourist visa must provide it. Where is the logic here, since stv is made for foreigner to stay longer. Can anyone explain the logic ?

Good explanation. So means, if you are wealthier have $
*****
for past six month, than according to thai logic you are likely don't have corona virus. 😁

A friend showed me this earlier. In fact, the post is on this group. Apparently you don’t need the 12,800 in bank for the special long term tourist visa. Not sure if this applies to the regular single entry tourist visa that’s valid for 60 days

it's on the embassy website so you can apply for a certificate of entry, but no doubt more people will apply than they have spaces for. and there is no guarantee things won't change between now and when your flight takes off.

I think that’s why they put the high monetary requirements in place to stop so many applications

yeah basically there is a limited quarantine capacity so they have to prioritise somehow, and those priorities can and will change

No, surely the health insurance money is for that. This £12,800 is to keep the number of tourist applications down, I believe
