I visit Thailand around four times a year staying two weeks at a time. If l wanted to stay longer like few days shorter than sixty days but do it two three times a year will there be any problems with immigration?

I an from the UK . I may have a chance of work in UAE which will be 8 weeks on and 8 weeks off through the year which means I can go to Thailand on the 60 day visa . When it comes to Christmas I could be in Thailand just over 90 days . My question is can I apply away from my home country for a 6 month tourist visa for this time or is there a better option

What did you guys write in "length of stay"?

I'm applying DTV 'workcation', and due to my work I'll be flying in & out often, sometimes few weeks, sometimes few months, not sure now.

So I'm worried, if I write my 1st length of stay 15 (or 65) days, they just might issue regular Tourist visa 60 days (or 6m METV) even if I apply & pay DTV (I saw a few cases here).

I'm applying at Thai embassy in Hungary, my 1st entry is at the end of this month, and I don't know how long will be my 1st stay yet.

I rent Thai condo annually (my current lease is from December 2024 until December 2025).

Thanks guys.

Hello All, I’ve been lazily following the group, but with the US essentially being burned down, time to take a serious look. Just need the group to point me in a direction. Looking for the path to the most-hassle free type of Visa. You guessed it, I want the minimal amount of renewals, one day out of the county trips. I have read about the 5 and 10 year visas, but any advice would be appreciated.

I'm doing the dtv application online and I keep getting stuck along the way. What do I put for length of stay? I prepaid for 9 months of Muay thai already. Do I just put 9 months? I'm planning to stay longer than 9 months but wondering if I need to show proof of that. Or should I put 180 days? Thanks.

I am coming to Thailand in December for the first time. Do I only need a passport? What about visas? I am 57 years old and I do not know how long I’m going to stay. I will be meeting a friend that I met on the Internet she is 54 and we have been talking for about two years. A long time I’m just trying to figure out this whole thing.

First, I need to figure out the visa thing. And of course, the passport about how long these processes last and what I am needing to take care of to be legal.

I am about to go to the border for a visa run near Pai. My driver just informed us that it is now advised 2 nights instead of 1 night. Anyone else needing to stay 2 nights in Huay Xai, Laos?

Hi all,

I’m currently in Thailand with a multi-entry tourist visa which I paid for online at the Thai embassy in the UK back in April and did my first trip at the end of June (ie this was all pre the announcement of DTV and other changes in July). Since then, I have stayed in Thailand 3 times for about a month each, with 1-2 week trips back to Europe and to Hong Kong in between.

Yesterday I came back for the 4th time, and immigration was very prickly this time around and required me to purchase a (any in fact) flight out of Thailand within the current 60 day window, which I did.

Now that I’m back, I was however previously planning on doing my first (and only) 30 day extension with immigration in Bangkok in December to extend my stay into early January. After that I don’t plan on coming back to Thailand for a while.

Will there be a risk to that 30 day extension given I’m now on my 4th tourist visa stamp since June, even though I have so far never maxed out my 60 day stays and just made good use of my multi entry tourist visa until now? Or is that all not relevant. I have a TM30 covering the required period for Bangkok already.

Thank you in advance for any helpful views :)

Hi ! I am beginning to study the retirement visa world; feeling a little overwhelmed and with a lot of doubts, let’s see if you can help me with these novice questions:

1- Do you have to be 50 years old to apply for the initial Non O Visa or just to apply for the extension?

2- Lenght of stay

So is it 90 days (original visa) + 1 year (extension) from the entrance date in Thai OR 1 year (if you get the extension) from the entrance date in Thai?

And if you get the visa once inside Thai (because you are there on a tourist visa) i suppose the initial date would be that of the stamp…

3- Renewal

This is what i don’t understand: so once you finish your legal length of stay…you just apply for a new extension of the original Non O visa over and over again year after year? With no limit?

4 - Re entry permit

So you first apply (and obtain) the Non O Visa and then ask for a re entry permit at the airport every time you want to leave right?

Thanks !
