TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the requirements for accommodation after the quarantine period in Thailand for STV applications. It is generally stated that one needs to provide an address for where they will stay post-quarantine, but specific booking requirements seem flexible. While Airbnbs may be considered illegal in Thailand, some users suggest that declaring such a booking as a friend's place could work, although caution is advised.

You can take a risk and say the airBnB is your friend. But I don't suggest it. Pre covid you only needed to show a booking for a few days. You could create the booking, print the confirmation, cancel booking. But I don't know how things are now. It's kinda of a soft requirement in that almost anything will do. But AirBnb, because its illegal.
baht per month..why not pay more to stay in this pandemic

Oh man..what a fierce debate we have here on airbnb. If it was so illegal I would not think Asian investors bought thousands of condos hoping to renting it out via airbnb and agoda.
Prostitution and gambling is a criminal offense, the "PREVENTION AND SUPPRESSION OF PROSTITUTION ACT B.E. 2539 (1996)" and the Title 9 section 286 : "Section 286 Any person, being over sixteen years of age, subsists on the earning of a prostitute, even it is some part of her incomes, shall be punished with imprisonment of seven to twenty years and fined of fourteen thousand to forty thousand Baht, or imprisonment for life.
Any person has no other apparent or sufficient means of subsistence, and:
Is found residing or habitually associating with one or more prostitutes;
Takes board and lodging, or receives money or any other benefit arranged for by a prostitute; or
Take part in order to help any prostitute in her quarrel with her customer,
I once rented in a condo and arrived to find such signs. AirBnB refused to refund my rental. I was furious! On the other hand, I rented a place in Chiang Mai and the condo management was very accommodating to short-term subletters.

Airbnb is illegal for bookings under 30 days and condo management can and do enforce this. Fines can be placed on owners trying to do short term (sub 30 days ) lets
no it’s not. It’s quite legal to list on AirBnb” for stays under 30 days. You just need a hotel license. The fact that most who do so don’t have the license doesn’t make it illegal.
you can do it without the hotel license, but that’s illegal. Doing it with a hotel license is legal. A blanket statement of Airbnb being illegal is wrong.
The hotel act of 2005 prohibits rentals of less than 28 days inside condo buildings of 4 or more units. It is NOT specific to airbnb. This does not apply to houses or townhouses.
Also, this is a housing regulation. The Hotel Act of 2005 is NOT part of any criminal code or statue. There for, it is not illegal, police don't enforce housing regulations period. As a renter there is nothing prohibiting you from renting a condo, and a juristic person or building management has 0 authority to tell an owner who he can and cannot let stay in the condo he owns.
when i applied lsst week in London just had to give an address. It could have been a condo or hotel. When i arrived yesterday just had to have an address they really weren't over interested.. i wasn't applying for a visa as i had a valid O visa.
