TLDR : Answer Summary
The Special Tourist Visa (STV) allows for an initial stay of 89 days, extendable for two additional periods of 90 days each, totaling 270 days, but comes with restrictions and prohibits employment. The Non-Immigrant Visa Type B permits an initial 89-day stay and can be extended for one year based on employment without requiring insurance. The Non-Immigrant Visa Type O-A is designated for retirement, valid for one year, also requiring the holder to be over 50 years of age, and allows for multiple re-entries with a stamp valid for up to one year.

>Special Tourist Visa

On entry, a person is stamped for 89 days. A person can then get TWO 90 day extension of stays. Insurance is required for the extension of stays. This is employment prohibited.

>Non Immigrant Visa Type B (business purpose)

On entry, a person is stamped for 89 days. A person can get an one year extension of stay based on employment. Insurance is NOT required for the extension of stay. Talk to the employer for the paperwork required.

>Non Immigrant Visa Type O-A

This is for retirement, and requires being over 50 years of age. The visa is valid for one year. This is a multiple entry visa. On entry, a person is stamped for one year. On each entry, a person is stamped in for another year (or the length of the insurance, whatever is less). Insurance is required for an extension of stay.

Thank U. I needed a clear picture of what those visa meant.

I am qualified for STV.

Makes it easier for me to plan and book my return ticket.

This post makes no sense to me.

StV and Non-OA are employment prohibited (that means, you can't work. If you are caught working on the STV, you're blackliste)

Non-B is for employment.

The OP is enquiring about the 3 types of visa that his insurance covers. A perfectly logical question to ask if you dont know what those visas are.

STV is 90 days extendable twice giving you 270 days. Lots of restrictions though.

I will let other answer other stuff because your question is a bit confusing and you dont say if you qualify for them. More details for both of those are on most embassies website

Insurance is down to $20,000 for Covid hospitalization. Found a quote for 3,500 THB for 270 days. Can book refundable accomodation? Find a new place after refund ..?
