Hi all, I got some question about DTV, DTV is considered as a tourist visa, so it is not allow to open a bank account in Thailand, which means I only can carry cash though flight, i dont feel this is a good idea to carry couple hundred thousand cash in the bag, feel unsafe

Second, since i dont have bank account in thailand, can i pay the rent, utility bills by cash? Thanks all.

Supplementary Information:

Q: why need so much cash

A: if i dont got bank account or any e-payment method, the cash is the only way to pay all the goods and bills, consider DTV is a 6 month visa, monthly expense for me approximate 30-35k THB, so if i carry around 200k THB, it let me feel nervous if i lost it, i am the type of people prefer the money keep on bank

Hi all. What are the rules about your banked money (400k) when you apply for extension based on married to a thai person? Does the money have to stay in the account all year from my last extension?

Morning all, once I’ve deposited my 800,000 does that balance have to stay at that amount or is that for my living expenses? Also I am worried upon my passing that my daughter in Australia would not be able to inherit the balance, thank you so much in advance.

Hi Guy's, I hit 60 and retiring from work in August, and moving from OZ to Thailand with my wife. From what I understand, we will need to have a separate bank account with 800,000 baht in each account as well as a monthly income. My question is, does the $800.000 baht have to remain untouched and if so, for how long? Does anyone have a copy of tge rules around this? Thanks.

I'm near the end of my 1 year multi entry visa, I have to choose between going immigration and get and extension or do a border run and get one last 3 months stamp from this visa.

The question is, if I go immigration, will they give me a 1 year extension or only 2 months extension?

I have 400k in thai bank but it's in investing account not saving account.

Hello, I'm actually on a process to renew my non O visa based on a thai spouse (Visa under consideration) so I have already gave all the documents required and just wait for my next appointment. Do I need to keep the 400k thb on my thai bank during this period or it is fine I can move this money away?

Thank you

800k Baht question: I put 800k baht in a Thai bank, get a three months extension, and let it sit there for two months? Then I go back to the immigration office and get a 12 months visa stamp.

What happens if I spend 700k baht of it? What I've heard is that it shouldn't go below 400k baht in the bank account.
