Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, never hurt to ask...about the 800,000 baht, does it has to be in one Thai bank account or can you have 3-4 Thai banks with smaller amounts? I guess a lot more paperwork for the immigration process?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 800,000 baht that is required for certain visa applications must be kept in a single Thai bank account that is in the applicant's name. While it is technically possible to have multiple accounts, it is strongly discouraged due to the strict scrutiny by immigration authorities, which can lead to complications or rejection if the rules are not followed precisely. The money must be maintained for specific durations around the visa renewal process.

One account only. The amount has to be 2 months before and 3 months after. Minimum balance can be 400,000 after 3 months. Each renewal you have to give photocopies of your bank book going back the previous 12 months. At Jomtien Immigration I had to bring in my updated bank book after 3 months of receiving my renewal.

You must have the 800,000 in one account ...and in your name only .

There's nothing to say you cannot have more than one account (all have to be in your name) but I strongly advise against it. Immigration are incredibly anal about bank accounts and anything which goes outside of the square they see as a reason to reject. Because of the fragility of this 800k method I would urge don't do it. An IO has wide-ranging powers, one of which is "make life difficult for farang"!
