Been in Thailand 5 years and I'm on a O marriage visa. I've had an account in my name for 3 years. I wanted to open an account together with my wife but was told new immigration rule doesn't allow it. Anybody else run into this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of opening a joint bank account with their wife while holding an O marriage visa in Thailand, mentioning that their request was denied due to new immigration rules. Comments suggest that while a separate account in the user's name is necessary for visa purposes, a joint account can be opened without issues, provided it meets bank requirements and documentation is in order.

Try Kasikorn my wife and I opened a joint account no problem, take your original marriage certificate, blue book, yellow book 'if you have one' and all ID
If you plan to use the account for your annual extension then keep it in your name. A joint account requires double the amount (as only half of it is yours) and some immigration offices won't allow it at all.
