TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about the implications of a one-day overstay in Thailand as they prepare to board their flight. Responses clarify that while they might receive an "overstay stamp," the fine for staying one extra day is often waived, particularly at airports. Some users caution that future visits could be affected by the stamp, suggesting it’s better to exit before such a situation occurs. Overall, the consensus is that while it's not advisable to overstay, a single day may not lead to significant repercussions.

No problem at all. You will get a stamp and may or may not pay 500 baht. They sometimes waive it for one day overstays...

You should be ok. Immigration is closed today and they sometimes give you a pass if your last day lands on one of these days.

that has nothing to do with leaving the country with an overstay

You won't get an "overstay" stamp. What you'll get is a "fine waived" stamp, as it's only one day. Good to avoid, but no big deal

overstay stamp. 500 bahts fine. Not a problem. Remember, nothing in Thailand is standardized. It's up to the immigration officer. I had overstayed Stamp because of 3 hours. 500 bahts. Red stamped me, move on.

At Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang you no longer get a red stamp or a fine for one day

I got an overstay stamp in my passport a few years ago - the overstay was about 30 minutes! On my next arrival the immi officer in the airport was exceptionally slow at stamping me in - looked a lot at my passport.

That won’t look good in your passport. You might get scrutinized more closely in the future. I wouldn’t overstay again if I was you.

The next time you come back could be a problem with a overstay stamp in your passport. Should just go before you overstay . Take a bus and cross the board. Better to be mindful and not overstay

I did it deliberately a few times over the years, I never had any repercussions for the tiny one day overstay stamps with a squiggle in my passport. This is my 20th winter in Thailand.

in the future - also no problem. It’s a simple money grab. And good on them. You stay long and you either pay for a visa or pay a fine on exit for enjoying their country. No problem either way

I don’t bother. You enjoy standing in line at immigration offices to beg to stay, that’s great.
