Hello,

October 18th was the allowed date to stay in Thailand, stamped by Thai immigration. But my flight ticket out of Thailand was bought on October 19th (misunderstanding in how we count 60 days).

The cheapest solution would be accept to pay 500 bath fine of overstay.

Would you please give me advice about the risks associated with this solution? Next time I come to Thailand, will it be a problem? Is there any black marks on my name when I apply for VISA in different countries?

Thank you so much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the concern of overstaying a visa in Thailand by one day, specifically about the consequences and potential fines associated with it. The user questions whether accepting a 500 baht fine for the overstay would have repercussions for future travels or visa applications. Responses indicate that overstaying by less than 24 hours typically incurs no fine or black mark, and proactive reporting to immigration may even waive the fine. Overall, many contributors affirm that this minor overstay should not affect future visa applications or entries into Thailand.

I can't see

getting any more info off this thread then they have, as I said they're not the first foreigner to miscount and overstay by a day and they won't be the last. It works exactly as I outlined

Good luck, take care,

There won’t be any black mark on this. And if you take the initiative to report to the IO that the overstay of one day is due to misunderstanding of calculation, they may as well waive ur 500 baht penalty.

that people can't count (the day you enter is day ONE) doesn't cut any ice with immigrations 🙁 as I said MOST international airports waive the 500 baht overstay when it's under 24 hours and they've done that for years and years.

If your flight out is shortly after midnight, just stamp out through immigration before 23:59 on the 18th and you won't have to worry about it.

face it you're far from the first foreigner who mis-counted the days, (the day you arrive is day ONE no matter the time), and as a rule IF you fly out on an overstay of under 24 hours there is no 500 baht fine and you only get a small stamp in thai next to your departure stamp that says "overstay under 24 hours fine waived)

NOPE, nothing, shouldn't affect you getting a visa or entering the country AT ALL,
